You're not alone, and the person you're convinced is too popular and cool to want to spend time with you might very well be assuming the same of you.

@mawr I have one friend in particular for whom I *repeatedly* have to overcome this mental hurdle.
I don't think she's assuming the same of me, though; she just experiences time differently, and might not notice that a couple of years have passed since we last interacted.
