i’m having an argument with someone over whether console FPSes should just let players play with mouse+keyboard because that’s easier for people with disabilities to use

my counter argument is that it also means able people who can set up a mouse+keyboard would have an advantage over anyone playing with a controller, and their argument is ‘well, then you can play with a mouse+keyboard too’, and like... i don’t feel like that’s actually a good argument? am i wrong here?

@hierarchon there are multiplayer fps games on both that dont have cross-play. I've been in situations where I'd want to play with friends on console, but hate how the controller feels.

Maybe make it a matchmaking option, like fortnite?

@minimink this person is specifically arguing against making it a matchmaking option, though; they think controller players should get matched against mouse players

@hierarchon huh. Well that's where I disagree. Theres an obvious advantage there, and it excludes folks who can't use keyboard and mouse from enjoying the game as much as they could be.
