day job starts with training so I'm going to live dangerously and smoke a bowl

especially since there's no play back speed setting!!!

First important lesson according to the animations of the video: Whenever someone begins to act maliciously, a fedora, a trenchcoat, and some sunglasses spontaneously appear on them

Second lesson: this presentation was generated to add my company's logo and name, but it does not have a value for the company name so it says "$$CompanyName$$".

Third Lesson: this narrator says things in a clear non-techie manner, enunciating initialisms like HTML rather than slurring them together a bit as I would. This and the fact they say "data" the way I don't annoys me

Fourth Lesson: The writer's have it out for Rohit, who is the name of an example employee who I'm sure is about to to get owned

Ok, actually learned something: XML External Entity exploits. Which more so, what the fuck, XML?

Like I know XML and I've surely read about the feature once before, but hearing that you can like literally say "hi xml pls read the password file into this element, it's totally legit"

What the fuck, XML?

XML: when you try to please both computers and humans at the same time and thus are destined to fail.

Like obviously XML is here to stay for a lot of reasons but it's always been pretty clunky. Like JavaScript, it's a bad idea that accidentally became the standard imo.

oh man, I just watched this poor animator's magnum opus: to illustrate the interconnectedness of modern software, a puzzle with the pieces labeled as certain components are shown.

If one of the pieces fall, as we soon see happen as we gaze into the eerie red abyss behind...

... the failure of that component may allow a malicious actor (guy in fedora with dusky skin pops up from the abyss) to attack other components (another puzzle piece falls) and possibly eventually take down the entire system.

Pieces continue to fall revealing more and more red, at some point the frame of puzzle pieces falls, with a flash, clip art explosions line the bottom of the screen.

Now, there is nothing but the abyss.

ok I am not crazy, just high: the narrator does switch to saying "DOM" as a word when moving on to text like "DOM-based"

why even say it as "dee oh em" a few seconds ago???

I am so judging your technical writing here unnamed training website
