update: finally called Ford GoBike customer service (second time i had to, for my one 20-minute bike rental, for those keeping track) and this second lady was (like the first) super accommodating and like "OMG, I see a $100 bill? OK, canceling that. Sorry, thanks for calling!"
so at least this trash-tier bike rental experience has a non-angry-making ending

@squeakycheetah long story. the product failed to function correctly at every last step, physical, hardware and software
at the destination the bike would not lock into its dock so i had to call customer support. they confirmed that all 8 free docks were non-functioning. asked if i could ride to another station. i said no so they told me i could let the air out of the tires (what) and leave it there. i would not be charged further.
monday morning i woke up to a $100 surprise and very impressive trip stats
