My favorite part of listening to music on YouTube is finding an old upload of a song.
They tended to use a noise gate? or filter? (idk the term) which made the sound muddier and quieter. It sounds like absolute crap but it has a nostalgic, early internet taste to it.
I also love videos that have mojibake in the title. No idea how that could have happened well into the 2000s.
@EeveeEuphoria that's awesome! I may actually try more distros this way. I've been eyeing NixOS for a while.
Wait hold the phone, if Flatpak's user installation dumps all user data to a .var folder under ~, doesn't that mean that I could be up and running by just installing all apps on install? Everything should Just Work™️, right?
I guess that warning on the Arch Wiki about issuing a secure erase command on a drive while plugged into a USB adapter is true. I done did brick it. It's a chinese cheapo one but it's still 256GB!
I'll see if there's a way to reflash the controller firmware, as I'm 99.9% sure that's what blew up. It must have gotten /dev/zero'd.
About a week ago, operators of the Voyager 2 spacecraft sent a series of commands that inadvertently caused the distant probe to point its antenna slightly away from Earth. As a result, NASA has lost contact with the spacecraft, which is nearly half a century old and presently 19.9 billion km away from the planet.
