Friends are so great. Meaningful friends. I don't see all of my greatest friends anymore, but it is okay. They were so meaningful to me. That is most important.
It helps me regret nothing. If I ever find myself regretting a past life decision, I am reminded by the meaningful friends I have made that it was worth it.
I back that last post so hard. It is far worse in public. If you feel alienated and uncomfortable when someone speaks a language you do not understand near you, then get over it. Your insecurity over something so trivial is not as important as allowing a person to express their thoughts in any way they need. And if you are American, never forget that English is an import.
"Let's play a game, to help some of the newcomers make connections: name 5-7 things that interest you but aren't in your profile, as tags so they are searchable. Then boost this post or repeat its instructions so others know to do the same."
#introduction Call me Huber. Real name no gimmicks. I am a language enthusiast. It is the thing I find most fascinating in this world. I am a failed musician, and a returning student. I enjoy reading about world history, religion, eastern philosophy, and politics. I keep my thoughts on these matters outside of short bios, and instead keep them in conversations.
I am also a fan of encouragement, jackassery, and fighting games.
I literally cannot say _federation_ without having a mental image of Palpatine in my head. https://mastodon.social/media/Jhz9pjo5FOkh3FKy01M
