Thinking of trying Void linux and KDE plasma. It'll be neat to see what a non-systemd system looks like, and I've used i3 for a long time and wanna try something fresh.
Also KDE's mascot is adorable: https://community.kde.org/Konqi
ranting about javascript dependent web design
It's astonishing how much of the minecraft datapacking scene is locked behind javascript. A lot of bitly clones that redirect to scams / malware, and today I wanted to quickly get a gravestone datapack with lynx but no, with vanillatweaks gotta download in bulk ( probably just sustainable server management but I'm still bitter about it ) and the planetminecraft page for it redirects to the creator's site, which just says to get it from vanillatweaks. How is all this gonna get archived? Manually?
ytfzf is a cool program since whenever you look up something like "minecraft rain" or "minecraft wishing well" you see titles of the first 20 clickbait videos without the thumbnails. They feel samey with them, but removing the padding and just reading them line by line makes me feel something that's hard to describe. Like an urban spawl neighborhood but instead of low density residentalial housing it's someone shouting while a datapack they downloaded spams /give @p minecraft:diamond_block 9999.
I forgot that Minecraft skyblock is super performant on older hardware since it's a superflat with nothing but what you've placed so far in it. Once everythings loaded in I'm getting full frames on a 4GB RAM laptop without having to potato the graphics. (with jellysquid mods installed ofc, it would be flaming rn otherwise.)
I used to be not quite fond of stripped oak logs when they were first added, even when a mass abundance of them were available because it felt like a waste of durability. Now that Farmer's Delight makes them a godsend for skyblock I really like them. Adding a mechanical incentive can really change how you feel about an otherwise cosmetic block.
