I use stickers to tell my personal and work laptops apart because they’re otherwise visually equivalent.

To clarify: my personal laptop is unstickered. My work laptop has chibi versions of the draconic part of the Miss Kobiyashi’s Dragon Maid cast.

@Jacel I remember DFAs! I have occasionally even directly used them in software design.

There is a certain satisfaction in spotting a major tactic on the Shared Chessboard at work (there’s a double-sided sign for whose turn is next) and activating it, putting the side I moved for up by at least the exchange and probably an entire rook.

The reason I have an iPhone 8+ instead of holding out for an X: With this screen size and aspect ratio, I can read the cards in Race For The Galaxy for iOS without zooming in. Also in Ascension. Also Through The Ages.

So yeah it’s mostly because I want to play board games on my phone.

Also because it’s a much more comfortable size and aspect ratio for ebooks.
