Hey, I need some positive energy. What are some games that you've been enjoying lately? :>
@Tau_Leonis Oooh nice! To be honest I got really into the Pokemon version of France from playing that game several years back. It's just neat!
@KommaChameleon Try Subnautica!
The gist of it is the giant exploration spaceship you're on crash-lands on an ocean world, and you start out in an escape pod. And then you go explore the ocean!
It's nominally a survival game, but you can turn off the hunger/thirst aspect of it and just have standard health (I did, and haven't regretted it). It's more about the discovery.
It's all handcrafted, not procedurally generated, and there's all sorts of marine life to scan. You can build bases, too!
There's also a story you can follow, but the game doesn't force you in any way and you can ignore it as long as you want.
Some of the environments can be a bit creepy at times, but that's about it – there's no combat, there's no real antagonist, it's just you, the beautiful world, and a mystery to solve if you feel like it.
And the base-building is fantastic. I love how they give you back 100% of the materials when disassembling stuff. More games need to do that!
And your inventory is saved whenever you enter a base; if you die, you'll lose things that you picked up since then, but not any of the saved items. Pure genius, and again, more games should do that!
@KommaChameleon
Zelda Breath of the Wild and Pokemon X and Stellaris.
