Age of Wonders 3 is free on humble / longpost

So HEY. There's a free game on humble that I want to recommend. I'll start with the link so you can jump on it. humblebundle.com/store/age-of-

Age of Wonders 3 is a turn-based strategy game set in a fantasy RPG world. It has a campaign, skirmish maps, and multiplayer modes. If I were to compare it to a retro title, the closest is something like Master of Magic with a little HOMM mixed in.
You can play as an army of dragon people, albeit ones with disappointing tails!

It's simpler than one of those paradox Grand Strategy games but still has a bit of a learning curve. The focus is on settling and defending cities, fighting instanced battles on hex grids, and making effective use of magic both in battle and the strategic map. You also get a lot of hero units, including one that you customize as the leader of your empire. You can spec into D&D style "good" and "evil" alignments or various role-playing classes that determine what your hero can do in battles and the kinds of unique units they will be able to recruit. Every race/class combination is playable (I have no idea how good the balance is)

And hey, it's developed in the Netherlands! :U

The freebie is only the base game, but I think only the game host needs the DLC to play with the new races/classes/win conditions. You can try them out with me if you want!
