@Mycroft I guess Siege of Dragonspear does count as a counter-example! I think what I find most surprising, though, is that there isn't a faithful translation of 4e's mechanics into video game format, considering its reputation as being so Tactics-like.

@ShugoWah@snouts.online For incineroar I've found the timing on side b to be pretty effective at catching people who spot dodge or roll away, as a mixup in situations where you might also dash attack. Normal grab is faster; more reliable as guard-punish
Lucario's might be similar; it's slower than a normal throw but might also catch opponents who spot dodge with the flame when the grab misses
