I just want to note for the record that I was ready to give up on the Jak franchise after seeing how awful 2 is but 3 really picked up the slack. It's not quite a 3D platformer so much as an action-adventure-variety-hour game but it does some cool stuff! Plus it's funnier.

This is supposed to be a three player local co-op game and I just... can't *imagine* springing this on somebody without making them ultra uncomfortable.

I thought it was just the one poster girl with her 4px boobs bouncing up and down on an 8px sine wave, but in the very first level there's a there's a large-breasted woman dressed like Kitana being held hostage at knifepoint, and you have no choice but to run forward and watch her get stabbed

I've spent 20 minutes browsing the steam sale and I came across one user review saying "this game forces you to like black people"

and then the steam algorithm recommending me... this...

@sugar I try to include this info in my game recommendation sheet, though obviously that limits it to just the games that I personally like. There is some value in a more exhaustive list, or even just a protest “here are neat games lost in a vortex of copyright and bitrot”

I need a project and I need to not be working on it alone. I think lacking a creative outlet the past few months has demonstrably made my mood worse.

Have I recently tweeted that the sketchy quality of PS2 emulation on the PS4 really bums me out?

It's especially frustrating for games that have smoother, better-looking native versions on the PS3. Crumbling papyrus, yo.

@srol I bought this game early to avoid having any part of it spoiled for me and I'm wondering now what people would even spoil. I've been downright melancholy thinking about where this whole series ended up. Some people say "oh the story is all about friendship" but if that's the case it spends way too much screen time on its gigantic cast and imaginary physics.

I've been trying to find the fun in it, but there was no critical mode unlock after the ending and playing from the start while skipping all cutscenes reveals the extremely sketchy level design. Walk forward, skip cutscene, fight like 30 randos, skip cutscene, repeat. Plus those load times, oooogh.
