In fact Big Tank Battles never really happened. The closest we had was Kursk, and even then... Not what we think of as Tank Battles.

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz The Churchill was never supposed to like... go up against Other Tanks.

Same with like... 80% of the tanks in War Thunder. The only tanks that were really meant to Engage other tanks were the ones with the 76mm gun, or designated Tank Destroyers and Assault Guns.

And even then it was supposed to be with combined infantry and air support. The Churchill and matilda and other big steel bunkers were supposed to be big armored boxes that blew up strategic objectives.

@Kaffe@chitter.xyz So tank commanders would have to stick with the Infantry they were supporting and not leave them in the dust in a Panic.

Also because it gave them better cross-terrain ability due to more Torque, and they were usually more heavily armored as a result.
