re: plural talk, kink talk forced kink

@maxine Keri: if either of the boys need to talk about their feelings, I'm here. but if Max comes to me, he needs to take off the mask so I can figure out where the Damage is.

If a perfectly healthy Zebra stud comes up to me, I don't have much to do besides give him a buff and a wax and send him on.

I'll be waiting for the kid who comes into my shop who doesn't know what his Cutie mark is supposed to be.

re: mh (-)

@maxine Not surprised.

Don't be surprised if there's a scared little kid behind that mask tho. In fact, I'd be reaching around for the string just to check.

re: mh (-)

@maxine Keri: Gee, I wouldn't know what that's like at All. *grins*

Sometimes you've just gotta try and roll with the energy you're feeling that day.

re: mh (-)

@maxine Keri: don't let the menfolk out high on Estrogen. They don't know how to handle it.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online I still have a $250 gift cert from Pike Powder coating so I could just tell them I wanted a whole moped frame and rims painted sparkle candydust purple with a rainbow fade and they can't say shit. XD

@cozykaffe@snouts.online @maxine @budgiebin@snouts.online is good at the big thumpy dragon tails.

@sutter@snouts.online Doesn't -Matter- how you're different, the thing that's Hurting is the idea that you can think and act like a 'Normal' person.

I abandoned all that and decided to get good at thinking like an Autistic person, and my anxiety and depression Halved in strength.

Accepting that my own idea of my Identity was shaped by the external social expectation of a neurotypical mind.

Once there, the idea that it could be Different killed the rest of it.

@sutter@snouts.online All those mental conditions wear each others clothes, don't forget.

I personally think they're all inter-related expressions of a mind constrained by the expectations of neurotypical world. Or Symptoms of a condition Caused by the experience of trying to be a Normal Human, to Everyone Else's Expectations.

@Dingy_Rat@yiff.life Also legit the other transdude I know went off to be a park ranger so...

@Dingy_Rat@yiff.life The cool thing about being a Forest Cop is that if you smoke weed on the job and nobody is around to Narc on you, you get to narc on yourself and then give yourself a slap on the wrist.

@frameacloud @radoptimist Ask them what makes them a better opportunity.
Ask them why they like their job.
Make Them justify what they're doing, what they Believe, and make them think They're the ones being interviewed for the job.

Ask them if They could do this job, or be happy with the pay grade. If not, ask them for Clarification: what makes this job unacceptable for Them?

@frameacloud @radoptimist
This is a Delicate thing because it's equal parts being an arrogant asshole, punching over your weight class, and pretending for a moment that the Tables are turned and you're wondering what's so great about their company that you should work for Them.

The headspace is crucial. We're all conditioned to be Submissive in these situations. I flip it and go Dominant.

Interview not going well? Ask Them why You should want to work for Them.

@sutter@snouts.online Yeah, that felt kinda like what it was.

You're not Wrong, not Really. But at the same time, there's some stuff that's hidden from view that makes this all Okay. You just need to get your head around what your Inner Child is needing right now.

I don't mean to assume anything, but I did pick up a Lot of the autism/aspergers signs when I visited. And if That's the case, then there's something Nobody tells you about That brand of neuroatypicality: We never really Grow Up.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online Because defying the laws of tradition is a crusade only of the brave.

I got married and settled down, sure. But I'm gonna be adopting Queer kids who needs upgrade parents.

@sutter@snouts.online What's the story behind this one?

boomer values

growing up, my dad would talk about the time he spent in California, and how (boomer voice) "everyone in California follows the leisure ethic!" He said that meant that they only worked as hard as they had to in order to have enough time & money to go have fun. he saw this as a bad thing.

fuck the Protestant work ethic yall, it's toxic as hell

@Rybark@snouts.online All Hail The Redneck Ziggurat!

@radoptimist Hotter take: Folks doing the interviewing are usually inept at their own job, and even MORE inept at interviewing.

I take control of every interview I walk into by Reflex. Usually it's some Tired Boomer Man who's three years from retirement interviewing me.

They have no idea what they're doing.

Hot take: The fact that a job interview requires you to literally suppress your own basic humanity (not smiling, making sure to shake hands firmly, not fidgeting, sitting in a posture you'd never normally sit in) in order to win the chance to sell your fucking blood to capital in return for a pittance is, in and of itself, a reason why every billionaire should be summarily executed
