Oh my god...

Kestrels are the kobolds of birds of prey.

@cozykaffe@snouts.online I remember a camp out before a paintball game where a shirtless guy named Cowboy was playing an acoustic guitar and belting out the Gummi Bears theme at maximum volume at 11PM in the woods.

@thamesynne @Galdrakinn Sames, been working on this one hard. Major Conflict Aversion.

dying synth (175 words)

well, shit. i knew this day would come eventually, and here it is...

the display on my alesis fusion is on the blink. literally; just like my vaio screen did a few days ago, it's started flickering and fuzzing and generally behaving like something's just burned out.

this would be annoying but not fatal in most synths, because most synth have an extensive SysEx implementation that allows them to be more or less completely controlled remotely.

but the fusion does not. they never got that far when they were coding the OS - they got stuck on basic stuff, like keeping audio and MIDI in sync...

so this damn thing, which cost £799 new in 2006 (and had its power supply replaced in 2007, after it decided one day that it really didn't like the mains voltage standards in the UK), is basically going to have to go in the bin because as far as i know it can't be effectively serviced :-(

this is why we don't tend to bother having nice things. eventually they go away.

re: dying synth

the annoying thing is that i was just on the cusp of buying a new synth anyway - a Roland JD-Xi - but the money i would have spent on that instead went on an emergency sojourn in west yorkshire

oh well. i guess instead i'll just load up a PC with all the commercial softsynths i've bought over the years, and make that work

because if the hardware that, say, the Korg Wavestation VST is running on dies, you can just buy a new machine and reinstall. whereas if you have an actual Korg Wavestation and the hardware dies... that's all she wrote.

@thamesynne Oh, Hah! nononono, that was oddly compelling. o_o You're good at this

@thamesynne I got halfway thru this post thinking it was a Shortfic about a Fallout 4 Synth OC written from the first person.

PROPOSED FROZEN REWRITE: elsa's parents suddenly remember "wait a sec, we're in fantasy 1800-somefuck, ice is a major industry for export! THE KINGDOM IS RICH! WE NOW HAVE AMAZING PROSPERITY!"

the movie is now about anna inventing the air conditioner because she wants to spend more time with her sister instead of elsa going on humanitarian missions to hospitals full of people with fevers.

at some point elsa makes a battleship out of pykrete, and it is fuckin' bitchin' as FUCK.

@perfectblue@snouts.online That's a gigantic mood.

re: nsfw, bondage

@perfectblue@snouts.online We had to Rez a couple of our Friends alters in a pair of those capsules.

So, they work.

@ThreeLetterMax@elekk.xyz *Yaori takes a deep breath*

Well there's Up-Male, Down-Male, Charm-Male, Strange-Male, Top-Male and Bottom-Male.

Also there's the opposite allotropes: Up-Fem, Down-Fem, etc.

And Then there's the Gluon Gender interactions, where aspects can be exchanged between genders at the speed of light.

All of these sub-Genders combine to make the genders we know in Reality, but an almost infinite number of theoretical superheavy genders exist, created in gender colliders.
