it sucks that trying to talk to people when they do something that hurts almost never matters.
like, at best im ignored. at worst im attacked. mostly people just justify their ableism, and handwave their racism.
only very very rarely does talking to someone actually start a conversation. extremely rarely am I not terrified that someone is posting screenshots of my words to a discord somewhere.
it sucks. theres lots of people out there with lots of intersections and just cuz somebody says, "hey, what you said has kinda harmful connotations" doesnt automatically mean you're a bad person.
it just means you didnt know, and someone is trying to help you learn.

Star Trek's biggest flaw is that canonically they have been in situations where they have attempted to bluff their way out of a situation with a phony ass pull, like Corbomite, but it is literally indistinguishable from the countless other instances of technobable on this show and yet when the aliens are saying "your weapons will amplify the krieger waves and cause a resonance cascade in your own warp chamber" nobody ever says "hang on that's a lot of horseshit you're lying aren't you?"
