...I'm not going to say this never happens outside abuse relationships, because I'm sure it's a toxic coping mechanism a lot of folks have acquired from one place or another ... but I /will/ say that if you're wondering if someone is willing to treat you with respect, consideration, and regard? Seeing them act this way is a pretty big sign that they aren't.

people say "gender is a spectrum" but then they think of it like a point along a gradient, or like a HSL value in a color wheel

i would like to posit that if gender is, in fact, a spectrum, then individual genders are not single points or even contiguous blobs but rather are more like this

Boomers: Get an entry level job, work your way up, get raises, get promoted, then retire.

Also Boomers:
- make the requirements for all entry level jobs only obtainable with experience entry-level employees dont have
- make pay and raise increments functionally nothing
- hire outside the company when new positions open
- retirement is basically a joke at this point folks
