It's weird in that I've just noticed that in all my interactions with Twitter, access to it has been *hostile*. It's like there's a security team around the perimeter, and all the times I've managed to get in I feel like I've been super sneaky, and a guard change cuts off one path, so I have to route around for another.

@Mycroft If you want to go back to my first couple of years on Twitter it was kind of the same way. Quite a few people *still* have me blocked from 2008-2010 even though I've spoken to them in person since and there is no ill will left that I'm aware of.

@skquinn Oh I've only been meaning the technical side here, specifically accessing mobile. The social side is another thread entirely.

@Mycroft Oh. I haven't done any real development with Twitter so that's not something I'd know about. I have heard of the API limits from developers talking about them though. They made alternative apps difficult because they want everyone to use the official app or the website because of ads.

@skquinn I don't know much about dev myself (most complicated thing I ever did was in BASIC), but I have heard from a friend that he has access to a magic app that never crashes and does everything I want, but I can't get it because Twitter shut down its ability to request third-party access to new users or something.
