I'm gay and also a bunny and also orange hello

"Boost if you agree" is something I'm slightly uncomfortable with, as it reminds me of birdsite behaviors which seem designed to make algorithms interact, forge hollow interconnections between users, and perpetuate artificial number counts to be mined and monetized. Or maybe I'm just overthinking things and seeing specters where there are none.

Boost if you agree.

"Binky supports all the other stuff you do to make you feel like you're Doing Something while waiting for the bus or whatever. See a bink you like? You can Like it! You can also re-bink your binks, whatever that means. Do whatever the hell you want in Binky -- no one will ever see it." 3/3

"Look, all we want from our apps is to see new stuff scroll up from the bottom of the screen. It doesn't matter what the stuff is, so how come other apps keep showing you stuff you don't want to see? When your other feeds are full of that guy you're sick of thinking about, Binky will show you pictures of birds. When you can't think of what to write in a comment box, Binky will write the comment for you." 2/3

"Binky is an infinite feed of random things ("binks") to look at. What will come up next? Cauliflower? Diana Ross? Keep scrolling to find out! Unlike similar apps such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, Binky won't stress you out or make you hate your friends. It just keeps your attention where it belongs: on your phone." 1/3

Like what's that kind of support called? IT help if needed when you don't have any internal IT. And how to find a good one? Is remote-only good enough, or does local have a lot of hidden advantages?

People more into the support of tech:

Friend of mine is starting a small business, will have an office of one workstation, and the most experience anyone has on staff is buying a laptop from Best Buy and getting talked into buying an extended warranty. From Best Buy.

Anything they should know or put in place now that'd be super helpful later? Getting local support contract as expenses allow?

Idea: plot of Ready Player One, only instead of characters obsessed with worshiping the enigmatic programmer who made a game everybody loves, the characters are obsessed with worshiping Notch.

(Dystopian future, bam)

Two weeks of work left at my current workplace. I'll miss my nice little office complete with my name on the door.

If my legal name were Danger Asbestos, that is. awoo.space/media/aDVxseNcHzWBf

So I'm sure someone somewhere has arted up a Rowlet doing this but I don't think I've seen it and a quick search turns up nothing. So if you've seen it, link me please! awoo.space/media/LLgWdHCc8xc-s

Gattaca synopsis and spoilers

Poor poor cishet white dude is discriminated against! Since he has heart problems, they won't let him be a space ship pilot. That's so totally unfair. So he goes to elaborate lengths to hide his actual physical problems and becomes a space ship pilot anyway.

And has a heart attack on takeoff and crashes the ship and all his passengers into the sun. Okay that's not in the movie but I imagine it.

Watched Gattaca with friends tonight, because it's been recommended to me from numerous sources. I think I did good by keeping silent through at least half of it, then couldn't help pointing out obvious deficiencies as the film progressed. By the end I realized there was not a single thing I liked about the movie at all, just stuff I hated and stuff I could tolerate.

e3 takeaway

so this is what I know
1. A thing called e3 apparently happened. Is happening? I don't know. Last time I really cared about events like this was when I was eagerly reading Nintendo Power hoping for news on the upcoming Ultra64.
2. Some game announced is furry-adjacent maybe? I only got info from meta-meta snippet. I tried googling "what was the furry game from e3" and it turned up nothing, so I lost interest.
3. I'm still not really interested in video games.

Sad news, the Banana Splits / Suicide Squad crossover comic was extremely resistant to burning. But I had torn it into pieces to get it to fit in the small pie tin I was going to use to contain the fire, so at least I had that.
