re: slur question

@Oneironott Name that came up for the trans something awful goon community. Half used supportively by it, half used to mock them by the shitheads who are mad the community is protected on SA now.

re: slur question

@Oneironott Just a portmanteau of trans and goon, but since a ton of the worst folks harassing trans people these days are SA bitter vets who are mad at how the community became more accepting, it gets flung around derisively to not allow them to identify themselves openly.

re: slur question

@Oneironott @Nephila Shit, another quantum slur that could be used as an identifier? note to self, dig deeper.

re: slur question

@catoxis @Oneironott It honestly wasn't even a slur at its introduction. It was used by the SA trans community as a shorthand on our private IRC channels. Then the usual suspects started using it mockingly directed back at us and towards other trans people.
That was years ago and the KFers picked up steam so its volume of usage is weighted down by them now.
Just a word that belies the user was probably around something awful at some point. Have to watch for context otherwise.
