hrt worries

blehhh my most recent estradiol levels (about 225 pg/mL) are just a tiny bit above what my provider feels comfortable with and wants to lower my dose a bit, but i'm worried that (1) her range is conservative and (2) that my hormone levels won't be enough to maintain bone density

from what i can tell, (2) can be addressed by keeping track of LH and FSH levels and making sure they don't get too high, but as always (1) just doesn't have much research behind it

re: hrt worries

i'm a little bit worried that my transition had been plateauing in some respects (particularly breast development), and on my current dose i kinda feel like things might be ramping up again? so that might be most of why i'm nervous

i guess i could also try switching to some kind of transdermal method cuz of lower VTE risk, but it'd probably have to be patches cuz fffffffuck needles lmao (and also i'd be worried about how my levels cycling would affect my already fragile mental health)

re: hrt worries

unfortunately, a lot of the online spaces where transfem folks discuss hrt methods are, uh, a bit hostile (and truscummy) so finding relevant studies has been tricky

re: hrt worries

right now what seems like my best options are (1) switching to patches and/or (2) adding in progesterone

also i forgot that spiro may actually have some negative effects on breast development, so just the fact that i'm not on it anymore might do good things for me anyway
