It's weird. Like every other thing I've seen try to break the network effect with a "same, but free" or "very slightly different" offering, there's just no momentum here.

I appreciate everyone who primarily posts here, and I'm not going anywhere, but the vast, vast, vast majority of my social connections are still on birdsite.

It always ends up feeling really weird having twitter x-post here, especially since twitter has no cw equivalent, but also because like, half the time, it's missing context.

I just put out a brand new, fresh bowl of food for my cat

He's in the living room licking the carpet. Not licking anything *off* the carpet - there isn't anything (visible) there. He's just licking... plain, bare carpet. Is he grooming my floor?

My cat is staring at me and waiting for me to make any significant move at all, at which point he will demand-meow at me.

Even though it's hours and hours before he gets more food and his bowl is still half full anyway

Look, I've only been to one con, but I've know rough demographics of the fandom.

If you want to a con and only managed to miss these people, you were trying to miss them.

So I'm usually a LITTLE wary of commenting on media that I haven't seen get, but the thing I'm universally hearing from reliable people is the CNN piece sanitised the h*ck out of the furry fandom, did not include any LGBTQ or poc interviewees?
