@Fenreliania I like the ambiguity of "presents" in this statement. Is the moon offering a gift, or is (it/them/he/she) giving a presentation or performance?
@erinbee Yes!! Pomodoro is great. I'm using a modified version of that tonight. I'm doing 15 min of activity (game/reading and journalling) then taking short yoga-video breaks between each (the Yoga with Adriene videos are great because she has a lot of 5-10 min sequences that make for perfect stretch breaks).
@erinbee Timers are awesome, fyi. We use them a lot with kiddos, especially when priming them to go from a preferred activity to a less-preferred one. And I discovered they work really well for me, for the same reasons! Who'da guessed. :P
@erinbee It's been wonderful so far, thank you so much for asking!
It started off a little dull- I just zoned out to videogames for a few hours. Then I realized I wasn't being very balanced as far as 'self care' goes, so now I'm using timers to alternate between the game, stretch/yoga breaks, and reading/journalling. It's much more fulfilling this way.
How has your night been?
@erinbee That sounds heavenly!
@anthracite An honor, indeed.
@dani I hear ya. I've definitely been there. I'm happy to hear from you, though! Even if you aren't online too often. :3
@cassolotl@dev.glitch.social
That's awesome! There's something really special about nesting and making your house a home. I'm really happy for you!
Same. It's supposed to be the worst tomorrow, which is unfortunate because I work then. It will start to clear up Saturday, which is when my cousin's having an outdoor wedding... Hopefully it'll be fine. Hehe.
I'm giving myself permission to stay inside and watch the rain from the comfort of my home tonight. :3
A storm is starting to brew.
Because I have Tues/Thurs afternoons off next week, and can try out "that exciting new stretch class" then instead, I'm giving myself permission to stay home (& warm & dry) tonight.
I might do some yoga before bed, but letting myself relax and not drive in the rain is going to be really nice.
@mawr@plush.cityYeah, definitely!!
Yeah, so the plan:
1. Wait until 4/10/18 to see if my tax return comes
2. If it doesn't, mail the shit in
Looks like TurboTax can help with the mailing part, too. So hopefully I can file online, but if I can't at least I can figure it out.
Oof, though. I already owe 2k. I just want to be done with this and move on!!
@mawr I'm glad! It makes me happy to hear you're happy. :D
Also that's really nice to hear! ✨
Good(ish) news: I have a couple of options. I can file manually (which involves sending my check and W2's by mail... ugh) and/or wait a few more days to see if my mailed 2016 return comes in. Also, turbotax (the efiling software I used) does have an option for ppl who don't have their previous year's tax returns, so I'll probably do that.
TL;DR: Back to waiting for last year's tax return in the mail, I guess.
@mawr Yeeeeah... So, good news: I was able to talk to someone pretty much immediately. Bad news: It took that weird work-around to get there.
Also bad news: I'm not going to be able to use the online tax return viewing service because it's jacked up. Not her exact words, but it apparently doesn't take some credit cards, and I don't have any other ways to confirm my identity because I'm poor. Lol!!
(cont for good news, ish)
@mawr IT'S WORKING.
TL;DR: The IRS does *not* want you to be able to talk to a real person. It's going to make it as difficult to do so as possible.
@mawr Yup, that's what I called, and it sent me to an automated line.
According to one website, this is what I need to do:
(see pic)
Gonna give it a try, lol.
@mawr What number did you call to get there, do you remember? I tried calling their main line, but the only option that was remotely close to my question ("what do I do when I want to view my 2016 tax return online, but keep having errors?") was to have them send my tax return by mail. Which I have done, just in case, but I'm afraid it won't come in time.
@IrisKalmia @mawr Yikessss. I wish you the very, very best of luck, and also patience. Patience seems of the utmost importance in this kind of bureaucratic garbage.
@mawr Oh god. D: I... really don't want to do that if I don't have to. But I might have to.
I also asked them to mail my 2016 tax return to me, and it says it'll take 5-10 calendar days. I want to rely on this and not have to talk to someone, but... I probably shouldn't, huh?
