Food
I'm trying to be good to my incredibly exhausted body, so I bought pomegranate yogurt, spinach salad with miso dressing, and and aloe drink.
Help me make a dumb sleep choice
It's 8 pm here. I need to wake up at 6:30 am tomorrow morning. I already brushed my teeth, and I'm getting over a cold. Do I:
A. Go to bed now, hopefully sleep through the night and not get low blood sugar because I had dinner so early, or
B. Have some more food, stay up until 10ish.
Mh whining
& like one solution is "okay, just hurry up and get your master's degree, Sparrow."
But:
a) That isn't really a solution that guarantees me a job, and if it's the only solution, it's inaccessible to many other Americans.
and
b) My mental health is not yet ready for me to go back to school. I became a shell of a person last time I was in school, and I'm just not yet good enough at self care to do grad school. Yes, eventually, but not yet.
CW: Medi-Cal, stress
I need to remember to call medi cal in the morning.
I moved counties so I think I might need to reapply to a new health care plan or something.
I've been putting off doing this because the idea is so stressful, but I very much need to see a doctor and anyway test strips are too expensive without insurance.
Wish me luck doing the Big Scary Thing tomorrow.
CW: autism (cute), food
Last week I taught a group of about 6 autistic kiddos, aged ~ 3-6.
We were making rice crispy treats.
I passed around the bag of marshmallows and asked the kiddos to add 2 spoonfuls to the mix, and not to eat any.
Tl;dr, we accidentally enacted the classic Psych 101 marshmallow test, and it was *so cute*.
