Roommate vent

So we talked about doing chores before our game day and how doing a little every day will make things less stressful day of.

She didn't do *anything* before today. She went out partying last night and said she'd get up early to clean up.

She woke up a half hour before people were supposed to arrive.

I guess it's lucky that nearly everyone bailed at the last minute.

I'm just so angry at everyone for being so irresponsible. My roommate is almost 30, but acts like she's 16.

One last thing:

Ryo/Akira crossplayers bring me so much joy.

Okay, goodnight.

Yeah it's time for me to go to bed. Night y'all.

CW: food

Finished with chores, so now it's time for ramen. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Roommate Vent

More roommate venting:

- She invites herself along to everything I do ("Oh you're hanging out with Alicia? Mind if I come along?", "What are you watching? Oh, that's a cool show. We should watch it together sometime.")

Anyway, none of these are awful or unforgivable things, they're just annoying. *Especially* because they're things I've noticed myself doing, either currently or in the past. That makes it somehow worse. :P

Roommate Vent

Ya ever live with someone who's just like the worst parts of yourself? Or acts like you acted 2-5 years ago?

My roommate:
- Apologizes constantly
- Inserts herself into every conversation
- Procrastinates on things like chores, then has a panic attack trying to do everything at the last minute
- Performative flogging
- Uses overly formal language constantly (this isn't a bad thing, it just gets annoying)

Return of the Vegan Marshmallows

Social anxiety -

So I stayed home from the art show because it seemed like it would take too many social spoons.

But then I quickly became guilty and went back to bed to "feel safe".

Fell asleep so I didn't see my roommate's text that she was bringing people over.

Woke up to her and two friends loudly inspecting the apartment. Stayed frozen in bed for twenty minutes until they left.

Now I just feel shakey and spacey. :/

Diabetes, post-apocalyptic fiction

Watching or reading post-apocalyptic fiction is always especially weird for me because I know in those universes, with my chronic illness, I wouldn't survive very long. And if I did I would be a burden to those around me.

Sometimes these shows/books/comics feature a diabetic kid as part of a plot point or tragic backstory for another character, but they rarely stay around long.

So... art show.

Pros: Art, free food, will see friends I don't see often
Cons: Getting dressed, schmoozing, being around people

Ooookay, I've been "waking up" for a full three hours now. I think it's time to finally go for that jog I was threatening.

Good morning, friends! It's morning... somewhere?

How's everyone doing today?

Relationships -, venting

Tfw the entire concept of relationships sounds exhausting and unbearable because 7 times out of 10 I let people walk all over my boundaries (or don't set them to begin with).

My most lasting friendships are with people who make their own boundaries clear, and are explicitly supportive of mine.

I know I can get better at establishing/maintaining boundaries, as well as avoiding people who routinely challenge or disrespect mine.

But the - association is still strong.

It's #FollowFriday! Here are my suggestions for new folks looking for more content to consume:

• Get ✨consent✨ from people before you suggest them to others!

• For those of you not hosting your own instance, check out your local timeline! If your local timeline isn't helpful, check out the federated timeline!

• Don't be afraid to interact with people you see in public timelines- but always check profiles first before interacting just in case. Most of us are here to be friendly & social! ♥️

I will not go back to sleep I will not go back to sleep I will not... *snores*

I really like how into fiber arts my timeline here is. :D

I have my arms crossed like a corpse inside my cocoon of blankets.

It's easier when they're tiny, so I can understand how it's harder to hire people for the 10+ year old kids.
