Dragon Goes House Hunting

Alright, this anime seems very silly.

Show thread

... this is just the millennial furry experience in the current economic climate.

VRChat and thoughts on social gatherings/fatigue

I wanna hang out with friends more in VRChat...

... but preferably just... casual chill places. Like, I don't really wanna go to a virtual furcon? Or populated discos? I went to a furcon a few times because I had otherwise not met other furries in person, and it gave me greater opportunity to wear my suit.

But with VR, I can "wear a suit" as it were even with smaller gatherings. A furcon looses its specific function for me, for the most part.

It's also physically tiring standing around in VR. It ironically makes finding a calm escape to rest harder in VR than it would be in an IRL furcon/dance event. (Of course I can simply leave the world or take off the headset, but I'm talking in terms of within a specific virtual space.)

I've found enjoyment in merely losing myself in the idea of being who/what I am with other weirdos, without there needing to be a greater purpose. Be it dancing, gaming, or whatever. Though I naturally understand "just vibing" can only go so far.

Perhaps I simply want more mellow activities. It's just a little hard to find such things sometimes unless you try searching for something specific...

VRchat

tfw you briefly forget you're not actually in the physical space and you look upon critters in VR as being present and the actual physical people... ...

... now if I can better controllers (that aren't Vive wands), I might feel more immersed in my own avatar...

re: VR selfies, identity euphoria

I'm cute...

Spending that time in VR tonight looking at my reflection, I almost felt like crying...? Just... gazing in and taking in the idea I'm looking at my actual self, my body, a toy full of cosmos...

VR selfies, identity euphoria

I don't know how to describe the feeling that is seeing the micro cosmos of stars within me, with perspective and all, in VR... like even beyond being a good VR experience, that feeling of hey, I am full of universe feels validating... like... that is me...

gnosia, genocide

... depends on your definition of mankind. Also, there is no "should".

I recently streamed My RPG: Watashi no RPG!! to a friend, and through that noticed a handful of things that needed fixing, including a major game-stopping bug, so I've decided to go ahead and update the current demo!

nonhumanness, identity yelling

I am a creature. I am a beast.
I loom and I stand upon four paws and curl claws and have a muzzle and am large and beyond such human things.

... even if I am made of vinyl and such.

VR development pining

god can we get VR tracking that adapts for feral...

Like some sort of full-body tracking that attempts to guess what kind of pose you're making for a feral posture. Standing up will still be biped, but crouched sitting, laying on your belly, things like that, would be adapted into more feral poses instead of weird polygon folding.

Just thinking about being a giant feral dragon that's looking down upon my small friends, for, reasons... ...

gender and identity

My toyness, draconity, and femininity, are all equally important to my identity. My gender is dragon, but it is also toy, and girl.

cursed isekai concept, body horror

When transported to another world, the magic takes all of "you" to that world. The magic only classifies your brain and nervous system as "you", leaving your brainless/nerveless body behind.

Perhaps the magic ritual follows up with growing you a new body, but good luck getting back to your original world. It may require some form of magic on the Earth side as well to reverse the process, given your original body is likely to up and fail shortly after your leave.

I'm dragon... sleek tail and neck... flutter wings... stretch body... and raar... sqk...

VRChat selfies

VR is still good. Gazing at my face last night was incredibly validating...

Idle thoughts on sexuality and attraction

It's interesting how I turn up my nose at the objectifying portrayal of women by otaku nerds and a lot of fanservice, but I'm perfectly fine with fawning over non-human creatures and ogling furries in regards to their non-human traits.

Now to be fair, one of these things is part of a broader culture of the obsession over women's bodies. Me being all over tails or pear-shaped dragons or whatever else, is not likely to contribute towards the over-presence of female characters who exist only to be boobs and butt.

On the other hand, for some of us, our furry "characters" are, well, more than just characters. They are ultra personal visual representations of ourselves. Naturally in such cases, some creatures don't want randos getting murry purry over them. Anime artists probably feel the same way if they draw a pretty girl and get a bunch of nerds making creepy comments.

I dunno. I feel like it's somewhat hypocritical to presume myself (or others) to be above the attitudes of otaku/etc just because I don't like the way women get portrayed in media a lot, when there's things that I'm drawn to just as they are. But the issue is sort of different...
