Currencies are weird. What other dimension has hundreds of different units of measure, the definitions of which are constantly shifting, and yet the exact measurement thereof being seen as of the utmost importance?

sometimes i wonder actually: do you also think of dollars or euros or yen or whatever as being in the same category as meters or yards or whatever? as units of measure, rather than things?

or is that just an us thing?

@Hearth I absolutely think of them as things, different currencies are different things, if there were an underlying "money" that we were all just measuring differently then it wouldn't be possible to profit by trading currencies as the rates change
