slowly realizing how that classic fantasy trope of a tool, weapon, or piece of armor being handed down from master to apprentice in an endless chain across a trade or profession is such a fucking real thing to keep showing up in media because like. the primary box cutter i've been using for over a decade was handed down to me to keep as a gift by the only person to ever try pointing me in the right direction back at my first job ever (krogers) after he announced his two weeks' notice (and like. not to go on a tangent but that place has, no exaggeration, tried to kill me on three separate occasions during my work there. so the threat of fantasy (real) violence in these tropes still holds accurate) and i've kept the tool ever since. still glides in and out as smooth as it did the day it was added to my collection, and I've only needed to change the blade twice. one day i'll pass it on to whoever winds up training under my wing of print production. i hope it'll serve them well
