as much as I complain about having to work, having an actual job has given me some interesting perspective (also it's good exercise and it's undeniably good to at least get out of the house sometimes lol)
especially with money- I can now think "hmm how many hours/days of work is this worth"
I've spent about a day or two's pay on Warframe, for example, and I've played that enough to make it definitely worth it
"Yeah I'm pretty positive that one day we'll have crazy nanobot-medicine that can fix you as long as your neurons are still mostly intact"
"What makes you so sure?"
[flat voice, staring into distance] "soon we will need it"
Politics, vague negativity, mostly just weird
A long time ago when I was like 12 I was talking with my dad about vague political concepts, and he repeated that apparently-common phrase that goes something like "if you're not liberal by the time you're 20 you have no heart, if you're not conservative by the time you're 30 you have no brain"
and tiny child me just looks up very sadly and goes "which would you rather have"
