@ratscratch@snouts.online @StarshipAmelia im doing Story Stuff right now, the first interstellar ship sent from earth is sentient, because the people aboard are asleep most of the way. Would make piloting a bit tricky otherwise.
@StarshipAmelia I keep trying to find scifi writing advice, and the idea that "readers won't empathize with a computer-controlled ship, it needs human crew" is repeated so much, but it's so ridiculous, we -already- readily empathize with real computers and robots and they don't even talk
