Sittaford Mystery
I read an Agatha Christie in one day. It had been bad weather (snow/sleet/chill) and a mystery set in a snow storm sounded fun. This is one of Christie's stand alone mystery thrillers like Why Didnt They Ask Evans
The book cover misled a bit because after the inciting incident the snow storms stop and everyone travels easily.
Still an interesting little puzzle
Sittaford Mystery
SPOILER
I honestly read the story with a very queer eye and in my view Captain Trevelyn, the murder victim, reads as a wealthy gay man unable to leave the closet but wont get a beard wife and Major Barnaby as his long standing serious relationship... which does influence the entire work and characters but still works in text.
Captain Trevelyn only has male servsnts, built an isolated mansion with satalite bungalows including one he gives to his "best friend" the major....
