Remembering an old furry acquaintance from the 1990's and realizing there is no way in this splendid universe I can track them down.
All my old emails from the 1990s are essentially gone and we've likely changed our furry names dozens of times by now assuming they're even alive.
@ZiaMacPine it also helps to ask close friends for loose threads.
But also, almost all of the NM furries I knew disappeared like this ^^;
@artfulreggie Oh wasn't an NM fur.
yeah I did ask people who might have been mutuals but this was a while ago in my furry life and my connections have changed
@ZiaMacPine I actually made the mistake of tracking one down a couple of years back only to learn they went far to the spiteful right.
Which is a shame as they were once one of the most articulate and clever furs I knew.
“Sometimes dead is better.” 😞
@artfulreggie yeah perhaps it is better not to know at the same time curiosity has its influence.
sorry you had such a negative experience with this rediscovery though. Was this an NM fur? now I am curious if I knew them.
@ZiaMacPine They lived right on the border not too far from me. I think ultimately they either went to school in LC or Socorro. But yeah, fell in with some people with IDEAS about the border and the weird white manifest destiny obsession and the Bible.
The furry formerly known as Ath.alon (ferret; munged for anti-SEO)
@artfulreggie Oh yeah the conservative weirdo stornghold of New Mexico. The power of local cultural pervasiveness combined with *gestures*
that is a shame but yeah I don't know them.
I spent far too much time trying to find the threads of connection. I did eventually confirm his furry name, offline name, and his old email but after that... it ran dry
Did I spend too much time? yeah but sometimes old memories are like that.
