I am so far really enjoying Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan. It isn't the most ingenious fantasy novel ever but it has decent pacing, characters I want to spend time with, and a genuine setting I want to explore. That's all I really need: a reasonable story.

I did do a cursory check to see if Sullivan had anything super objectionable before I committed to this book. Couldn't find anything but I am sure there will be something at some point.

violence and other thigns

Though every once in a while the book does a gory bit or some violence that makes me go "this doesnt fit the tone of the rest of the novel why are you doing this?"

When the book is hitting on the proper tone though it works. There is a solid sense of humor about a rogue and his himbo just doing their thing.
