@BathysphereHat I literally never understand what is the hard part for people on this point. Tear down fasciste first and foremost seems like a legitimate praxis to me and yet...
@ZiaMacPine What I'm saying is that I'm all for deeper systemic change, but in the meantime, sometimes you have to pick the lesser of two evils to save the immediate future.
@BathysphereHat right and serious lasting systemic change doesnt come from a top of ballot vote it comes from years of organizing and winning local elections. You vote for the not fascist so you have the room to make those changes.
@BathysphereHat what even is that supposed to mean? Like sure, groovy, you had the last few years to do that if we are in september to november 2024 you have run out of time to find the person tying people to the tracks or whatever in this overstretched metaphor. You put in the not fascist so you can continue to do that work because the kind of systemic change demands decades of work not singular elections
@ZiaMacPine Right? People will say shit like "Don't pull the lever to divert the trolley, find the person who's tying people to the tracks." And like, sure, find whoever's tying people to the tracks, but FIRST YOU HAVE TO PULL THE LEVER OR THE PEOPLE ON THE TRACKS WILL DIE.
