I probably seem like it proselytize for polyam a lot which is maybe true. It is the thing that made my life start to click and my relationship with Abe has helped define the last five years in a really meaningful way that I would have been (more of) a mess without. Therian is the person I built my life around but the amount of strength and conviction I can draw from Abe and how firmly he believes in my worth as a person & a partner is impossible to adequately describe.

I feel sometimes like coming out online as poly in 2013 put me just enough ahead of the curve that I've been a sounding point for a lot of folks about it, which is interesting! I love talking to people about their new relationships because you kind of get a contact high off their NRE (new relationship energy) and how excited they are to have discovered a relationship model that works and supports their needs.

An interesting thing that happened on this trip is that we got to meet Abe's sister's girlfriend (she's new to poly but her and her husband are trying to make it work). It was very interesting to talk to her about her experiences w/ that stuff even if briefly. She seemed excited to be able to discuss it at all, and they were both so full of NRE. I felt very old and wizened by time, haha.

I downloaded the rest of the great British bake off so if I can't sleep on this flight I'm extremely going to watch five hours of that, I guess!

Waiting at my gate to fly back to New York. I always have such a hard time processing going through security because one minute Abe is there and hugging me and then I take my luggage apart and get x-rayed and put my bags together and look up and I'm alone.

I've learned to dread the feeling of Abe starting to sleepily twitch while he's holding me because that's the line between nighttime snugs and actual sleep. The time we get to spend together can never be enough, and sometimes I hate how much is stolen by sleep, even though I know that's irrational.

GENDA passed committee and is going to the house and senate in New York State, which is great news. If you're not up on NYS politics, we primaried out a bunch of centrist dems who voted w/ the republican bloc in the senate this past election to give NY a real democratic majority. Lots of good stuff happening because of it. Giving centrists the boot works.
