I went to buy the iPad last night but they were out of stock, and I chickened out on ordering one because I couldn't deal with paying for it and then not immediately having it

This is like, half me wanting to do more art and half me wanting to sock away extra money and create a sense of financial security for myself that's independent of my job

@angrboda I'm glad kitten remix is done because finishing it was a bear. It's not really feasible for me to go home, eat dinner, and then be able to have the night to myself to get work done more than once in a blue moon

I'm heavily debating getting an iPad Pro / Apple Pencil combo so I can find a way to get more work done without being so chained to my workstation, but I feel guilty spending the money and I'm scared that it will be the same as my surface where eventually I won't like it

I've told a lot of really convincing stories this morning at work about being at 'comic con'. Being a huge fucking dork is a surprisingly good cover for being a furry

In case anyone is interested in the nitty gritty of the pay stuff, the metric me and Abe use to determine how successful we think a book will be long term is its '3 day', the amount of money it makes in the first 72 hours. Monster Manual previously had the best 3 day of all of our books, which bore out as the highest grossing book. The best selling is still Classical Conditioning by a huge margin, but it's also cheaper.

@angrboda it's already doing really really well, haha. We're halfway to beating monster manual's 3 day in less than 12 hours. It seems like word of mouth is good, too!

@angrboda update: I posted a thing with international hotline info (because I have no idea where they are) and some other stuff that was hopefully the right thing to do

I got a bunch of anonymous tumblr messages (asks) from someone threatening to kill themself - does anyone have a best practice for this situation? The only way I can answer them is posting publicly on my TL and hoping they see it, and I'm not sure that's a good idea, either.

@angrboda fursuit stuff is a shitshow of like, 20 year olds who are incapable of being professional unless you're paying one of the 5 good thirty year olds ten thousand dollars

Therian isn't happy w/ the fursuit head he commissioned that the builder decided to try to rush for FE. I guess they did all the communication for it over twitter DMs which makes my skin crawl as an experienced freelancer. I wish he would take the lessons he's learned from communicating w/ clients and use them to be a more on top of it client himself.

@angrboda I don't know how to say 'I'm pushing really hard to do this hard thing while work is really bad' is a way that it's absorbed by the relevant parties

Finishing this book is going to be really rewarding but right now it's extremely stressful

If your take on paywalled content is 'oh no, capitalism!' boy do I have some news for you about the biggest content stealing everything should be free delivery system (Facebook)
