If you type out a full mastodon handle on mastodon.social (IE @mcc@mastodon.social — I inserted zero-width spaces in there to frustrate the machine) it will turn it into a link and *cut off the domain name*. It is *not possible* to type a full mastodon address on mastodon.social if mastodon.social knows how to shorten it 0_o
Anyway the reason I'm asking about this is I'm adding some menu items to Tusky and I'm trying to decide how to word them and which items to include.
This is my current mockup. Looking at it, I kinda want to change "handle" to "address", and I kind of want to remove the "Copy" options because these are uncommon operations. But then there will be no way to copy the display name!! And it bugs me!! When there's text in a mobile application you can't copy!!!
@mcc non-copyable text in mobile apps is one of my biggest pet peeves, so I appreciate your efforts
