@Firstaide now i'm thinking about a curved space operating system and it's weird and kinda cool
@Firstaide except i still want to hear about the dyslexia software
@Firstaide disregard everything i said lmao
@Firstaide oh god no it's me, i totally made the mistake of assuming you were responding to the hyperrogue toot i made earlier
@Firstaide what does the software do to help?
@Firstaide *laughs* ahh, i see i see but yeah, you can change basically everything about how the game displays itself, down to being able to change the curvature of the space itself, or adjusting three different planar distances which essentially functions as the lens assembly in a camera would. also, you can adjust the speed at which the world moves when you make a move, perhaps slowing it down would help? i really really like the options if you couldn't tell haha
@Firstaide there's a lot of options you can alter to affect how the game represents itself visually, have you tried using those at all?
@mauve alternatively you can elide the issue by using the sensitive image flag
@mauve gifs autoplay but not videos with sound
@sargoth i'm glad you tooted this during the witching half-hour
mastodon vs bird
@schizodyke omg we gotta bring the scalies out 🐲🐲🐲
@Freylet it's on steam - the free version is also available off of steam if you don't want to pay for it, and it's missing like no features compared to the paid version.
@Freylet i also really like how, with the way the game space unfolds for you differently, it's sort of integrated into the gameplay. you explore reach non-euclidean land and in doing so gain access to other lands with different rules, so the game feels like this constantly growing and evolving experience. plus, each individual game is quite fast (0 to 10 minutes) and it's really easy to start up a new game if you lose. there's no equipment management or spells or anything like that, just moving.
@Freylet it's really hard to say, there's a lot to like about it! it FEELS really fast and the kinaesthetics are really good, plus you can tweak them yourself in the menu if you want. there's like 50 different areas in the game each with their own little quirks in how you interact with them, plus you can play as an opossum looking thing and color it how you like. the non-euclidean space aspect is also very very interesting and i think i can feel my brain changing shape as i play it. funky!
