this transformer will bother no one anymore (should i try to make a new one out of it?)

line amplifier ready for dc testing. it's... a bit of a mess tbh, but its layout was the best i could think given the position of busses on the board.

anyway it still needs two sets of largish caps, which will be wired off board

layout for dc power supply board-- basically the increased need for current means bigger caps (shown) and smaller resistors (not shown). i could have tried to install a high voltage regulator. but can barely fit and wire the mods's i've already made.

Maybe next time i'll try to etch a real pcb.

Note: the diodes on the left are for the low voltage heater supply. The high voltage comes from a full wave rectifier tube off board.

I always find empty pc boards intimidating. Hopefully my mod will fit on it.

DC test. the tubes are working the voltages seem ok. The upper power supply is supplying 280 V to the plates, and the lower power supply is powering the heaters at 11 V.

At this point I have modified the phono stage (using a new circuit board). Mind you, this is the first board I have wired up for myself ever, so it looks a little rough.

The layout of that page is appropriately old timey. Anyway the two main circuits go from a 4 tube layout to a 6 tube layout

Anyway this is a Dynaco Dyna PAS 3 preamplifier. That is to say it is my Dynaco Dyna PAS 3 preamplifier. Also, my cat.
