esperanto, history, politics 

esperanto is hecka interesting both as a language and a historical artifact. its use was forbidden in the late 1930s in both germany and the soviet union for anti semitic reasons.

it's a product of a culture that european nationalism and especially naziism sought to destroy. it seems especially relevant to study these days.
