Basically for a trans person to recognize that banning the existence of out trans children in schools is partially to keep cis children in the dark about what trans people are like, I just want to go "and now you get why racial segregation was so important that it had to remain de facto".

If it's a "volunteer" or "community service" thing, ask yourself:

🍍 Is it exploitation? Are private parties being enriched at the expense of the less powerful in exchange for "exposure," "experience" or vague promises that it will "help your career"?
🍍 Is this a way of giving necessary work that is uncompensated and unrecognized to women, while freeing men to advance their careers?
🍍 Is this an opportunity that is only accessible to those who are already well-off, because it is un-paid?
