I've made some minor updates to http://guidetomastodon.com in the last week, since we have more people showing up. The biggest change was updating the PDF version; it had been a while since I'd done that. While we're at it, here is more wide-angle Milky Way #astrophotography

(Nikon D3400, Nikkor AF-S 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G DX ED at 10mm; 15-mm equiv.) ISO800, 9x 10s exposures, and 9x 20s exposures

Two days ago I took my camera on a spontaneous skywatching and made 9 exposures, 30s each. In hindsight, I should have used lower ISO and lower exposure time, and increased the number of shots significantly. Stacked the photos with Sequator; I also tried Siril, but that is a lot more complicated and I can't get much better results out of it, compared to Sequator. Also tried lining up the photo using a screenshot from Stellarium, but it is not quite there... lensfun might not compensate for all.
