I'm one of those few people I know who read all of Gravity's Rainbow. I can't claim to have understood all of it, but I did finish it, largely through dogged persistance.
"Against the Day" is probably my next from him to read.

Can confirm this is pretty effective! I came up with something like this just on my own, though I often do this while still wearing underwear over things. Flattens out the profile more and I don't have to look directly at things.
This is a good way to, well, practice for if you end up getting a vagina installed instead. :-)

As someone who has read all three (Illuminatus at least twice, Foucalt's Pendulum probably 4 or more), I agree.
Da Vinci Code is a dim shadow of them both.
Not sure what else /would/ compare to those two, really.
