For me the hardest part of making a Mastodon bot was figuring out the OAuth dance to get my access token.

Twitter offers a UI that does this for you, so I made one for Mastodon! It works on any instance, but it does require you to run a `curl` command (that it generates for you) at the very end. Hope you find it useful!

Contemplating how to go about building a patreon fund for our staff who need the money

Anyone have any advice for this kind of thing? Do I need an LLC or something like that to distribute funds without any US tax burden?

a final point i'll make about critically engaging with how you distribute and exercise your resources is this parting thought: gargron isn't the only person who has put or is putting work into this website, but he is the only person getting money out of it. if you can boost his patreon, there's no reason you can't boost mine too.

in the interests of transparency, i'm aware that me saying that garg being the only person to get paid for this might not be true in the future, or even now. nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong, so i want to leave room for that. that is, imo, one of the most vital portions of my call to action. try to make sure the queer folks that are putting work into making the fediverse a good place to be are getting paid for that work.

Since I feel like people don't take me very seriously on it:
