Brief description here https://freyrlepage.com/minecraft-gameplay-overview/#latetoendgame you take fire resistance potion and then sprint through the rock until you either find yourself in lava or the beacon effect wears off, then you walk back and mine all the exposed seams you find. Combined with branch mining of course. branches every 4 blocks.
Yes, I mean with elytra and rockets. Though I used to do it with the punch bow trick and projectile protection armour
