As annoying as it was that Werner keeps on absentmindedly pooping on the floor, I was taking comfort in the fact that at least he was still peeing in the box.
When we had incontinent rabbits we learned how to 'express' their bladders and that reduced some of the trouble, although I imagine for a cat that's probably a two-person operation.
@Austin_Dern He isn't incontinent, he just forgets where he is, and his backup location is extremely consistent and not a spot where he normally hangs out.
