Loki wasn't just a "maybe we can install him as king of Jotunheim or at least use him to counter them somewhat" insurance policy; he was *also* insurance against Hela. *that's* why Odin let Frigga teach Loki magic--Odin knew when he died Hela would be released, and Thor as king would *need* Loki's magic to fight her off.
Odin was a TERRIBLE FATHER.

also why did Hela have the "draw power directly from Asgard" ability? where did she get that from? nobody else seems to have one of those... (I missed like five minutes because I needed to restroom so I might have missed the explanation but somehow I kinda doubt it)
