but anyway volunteering stuff (mostly birds)
it's gotten slow at the wildlife rehab center. evidently most of what we'll get during the winter is birds that hit windows, and/or get attacked by cats. we have three hummingbirds, for example; the first since I started volunteering in... June, I think. today I got to watch a seagull getting meds and tube-fed (it was UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS), a duck being evaluated for ability to stand up, and a... robin? that was recovering from sedation & radiographing.

there's like four owls, one hawk (I'm not sure if it's a Cooper's or red tail), more seagulls, pigeons, a few ducks... and that's it. slow time of year! still plenty to clean up, though, and lots of seasonal stuff, like repainting, deep cleaning, putting stuff in storage.

@green YOU MADE MY EVENING WITH ALL THIS NEWS.

@brokenfingers yay! ^___^

all the squirrels have been released, yay! there's one opossum and six raccoons, and that's it for small mammals. the two bobcats are doing fine, and we have to be quiet around the facility because they're trying to get the four older bear cubs to hibernate. there's a new cub, much younger, but with a very uncertain prognosis. :/ oh and a seal pup that's doing great.
