@Aradia@mastodon.social
in a galaxy far far away
uncountable stars
shine in unselfconscious patterns
some bring hope
some foretell disaster
(in the literal meaning of the word, "bad star")
some chart paths for others to follow
but many more shine in anonymous brilliance
every one is a vast powerful beautiful rare individual story
but against the infinite void
not all stories can be heard.
all stars sing
the skies are full of their sound
if we could hear and understand them all
we would never stop weeping
@mawr *sniffle* thank you. after more people have seen it, I'll be able to talk about why it's affecting me like this the day after, other than the obvious and known thing with Star Mom (Carrie Fisher). :/ it's fun! it's good! it's no Empire Strikes Back, but it's good! I want to watch it again, several times! REY IS A FANTASTIC BADASS AND I LOVE HER SO MUCH
@mawr I wasn't expecting to see it more than once *this* month but having seen it once already, I've now had a promise of another showing, and am negotiating a third. XD CRYSTAL FOXES ARE FSKING ADORABLE AND I NEED A DOZEN OF THEM
@green Eeeee!!!!!! When I saw them in the trailer I was like "Okay this is some Final Fantasy bullshit but I'm not gonna complain because OMG"
@mawr I'ma have to find a plush of one because o________o eeeeeeeee
@green *checks the internet, finds like 10 kinds of soft Porg options and... no foxes*
Looks like the Star Wars merchandisers backed the wrong horse again...
@mawr I confidently predict that there will be *lots* of people making them. I want to try making one and *I do not own a sewing machine*. but yes, the foxes are much better than the flying fur potatoes, bleh. the porgs are ok, they aren't as bad as JarJar (there are things spawned from landfills that aren't as bad as JarJar), and they're handled fairly well in the movie, but they definitely are Not All That.
@green I'm so excited, and from the trailer, I'm expecting to cry my eyes out.
I suspect I'll be seeing it twice in the next month. ♥️
