Morning, Shop!
Random thought:
Bought The Kid some boots online. Turned out to be from Forever 21.
Started thinking about what an odd brand name that is. I can see it appealing to kids like mine - tweenagers - but 21? Really?? The only age I want to go back to less than 21 is anything earlier than that.
I would take my 21-year-old knees, though. In a heartbeat.

@lizmonster so for me the age 21 is linked directly to thoughts of dealing with alcohol, intoxication, and addiction. also "dear GOD how did I SURVIVE some of the stuff I was doing" because wow I made some incredibly bad decisions, and I was EXTREMELY LUCKY. more than once.
yeah, I'd love to have that body again, but that age was... not good for me. *shudder*

@lizmonster I had a depressive disorder, since childhood, and no idea what the problem was--I didn't figure it out and learn how to treat it for another decade and a half; I was dating an Actual Sociopath who was my very first emotionally/verbally abusive boyfriend (I didn't know that was a *thing* until later, too); and I was living in Oakland, CA, and doing... a wide variety of illegal and quasi-legal things. 9___9 I'm glad I survived too, and thank you! <3

@green I was really unhappy for an awful lot of my 20s. We romanticize the age, but I think it's disorienting and often destructive for a lot of us. I am very glad you survived.
